Mayo Clinic celebrates 150th year anniversary [KSTP Video]

While the Mayo Clinic is celebrating 150 years and dozens of medical breakthroughs and accomplishments, according to recent coverage by KSTP News, the most important medical breakthroughs could be yet to come.

The Mayo Clinic currently has 27 stem cells trials in the first phase right now, more than anywhere else in the country. Anthony Windebank, M.D., is researching to see if stem cells can be used to regenerate vital organs in patients who have heart disease, kidney disease and Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
