Mayo Clinic will be hosting the symposium, "Data-Driven Algorithms for Optimizing Laboratory Test Utilization for Hematologic Malignancies," on Friday, Dec. 5, in San Francisco from 7:30-11 a.m. The symposium precedes the 56th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting. As the premier hematology event of the year, the annual meeting is an invaluable educational experience for all attendees and features nearly 300 pharmaceutical companies, medical suppliers, clinical diagnostic and research-based companies, publishers and nonprofit organizations.
The Mayo Clinic symposium’s overall objective is to educate hematologists, oncologists and hematopathologists about cost-effective, diagnostically efficient test ordering strategies for:
- Evaluation of erythrocytosis
- Myeloproliferative neoplasms
- Chronic lymphocytic leukemia
- Plasma cell disorders
- Bone marrow specimens
Using test ordering algorithms based on data derived from the Mayo Clinic Hematology practice and literature, this symposium will illustrate how costly unnecessary biochemical, phenotypic and genetic testing can be eliminated from practice while maintaining highest quality medical care.
The symposium includes eight comprehensive presentations and is free to register:
