These images were seen in a Trichrome-stained stool specimen from a patient with intermittent diarrhea. The object shown in the top image is approximately 12 µm in diameter and has 4 nuclei (visible when focusing up and down). The object shown in the bottom image measures approximately 27 µm in length and has a single nucleus.
