Feb. 1974: Hilton Building Construction #ThrowbackThursday

In 1974 in Rochester, Minnesota, the Conrad N. Hilton Building was under construction. Mayo Clinic was building a bright and spacious skylight court to greet staff, patients, and visitors taking the subway from the Mayo Building into the Hilton Building for Laboratory Medicine and Center for Research in Human Behavior. The court would function both as an entry lobby and as a waiting area for patients. The workman in the photo (see arrow) was heading north into the subway connecting the Hilton and Mayo Buildings.
