Overview

“Employee engagement” is a wonderful buzzword in the business world that is often understood to mean that employees are putting forth significant discretionary effort in their jobs, going beyond simply meeting the baseline expectations of their role. Highly engaged employees are a work unit manager’s dream. They sound wonderful. However, once you move past the glitz and glamor of business magazine articles singing the praises of employee engagement, you’re left with a difficult question: How do I actually improve my team’s engagement level?

“Improving Staff Engagement without Spending Money and Using Very Little Time” will provide several practical techniques to improve employee engagement. With a little preparation and a few minutes each day, lab managers or those in other leadership roles should be able to improve the level of employee engagement on their teams.
