Microcalcifications of the breast are detected through routine mammography. When identified, it’s necessary to ensure that these are not something more serious, such as colloid carcinoma or atypical ductal hyperplasia. In some cases, biopsy specimens demonstrate mucocele-like lesions of the breast.
